Toss and turn I Can't Sleep at Night

Did my hair with some curls. I ended up pinning them back on one side because they were always in my face, but overall, I loved having "bouncy hair." I was definitely inspired by the recent DYT video of Type 1 hands on night for October 2011, and they talked about getting volume in your hair. It's always something I can use help with.

I love this peasant shirt. Volume, circles, purple. Everything a girl wants.

Pink: Day 2

Turns out I'm wearing pink again today.

Got a 100% approval rating from the dentist this morning, so the day was off to a good start. A 41 degrees Fahrenheit start, and I went with a wet head and no coat to the dentist. The frost on the rooftops reminded me that we want to insulate the attic this fall, before we spend millions heating the house that has no insulation.

There's very little talk or movement on my floor at work today - I may need to put on my coat and go for a walk, just to keep myself out of trouble.

Life in Plastic, It's Fantastic!

Looks like it's been a little while since I posted about my Type 1 antics.  But don't worry, they're still going on :).

I am wearing a new rather permanent accessory - my wedding ring!
I should get you a closeup so you can see the awesome height that you get with it (from the side).

Other than that, it was pink day. I am wearing this great skirt from Hillard and Hanson (one of my favorite department store brands) that I picked up at the thrift store the last time we had a date night to the thrift store (September, maybe). It's a bit of a light pink, but I love the seaming that goes across the hips. It's a touch longer than I typically go for, but fits beautifully.

Type 1 as a married person: So, I married the love of my life, and he happens to be a 2/4 in energy type. So, to put it lightly, we are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm all over the place, and he's...more sedate. It's not to say that we are incompatible, but it gives us an opportunity to honor each others' strengths, not compare one's weakness to another's strength, and to honor and cherish each other. I'll tell you more about this later, but I am so honored to have such a gentle and kind husband. :) Cheesy, I know!

Day 5: Belt It

Day 5 of the 21 Day Challenge

Today's challenge was to belt it, which I adore. I have a much greater preference for hip belts than for give-yourself-a-muffin-top belts, so that's what I went with. It's actually a scarf, and I do love this outfit. Lots of sparkle going on with the sequin skirt, the scarf with gold threads, my massive arm full of bangles, and the gold necklace.

All tied together with a very emo photo pose.

Day 4: Color Blocking

Day 4 of the 21 Day Challenge

Yesterday's theme (which I was too tired to post yesterday) was Color Blocking. I had to google this to get an idea of what was going on, but this one tripped me up a bit because it's what I wear a lot. I actually ended up with an outfit that was much more subdued than what I normally wear (think Barbie and the Rockers Goes to the Office), but I love the cool colors with the gray skirt. And I loved wearing shoes that didn't cut into the back of my very sore heels.

Day 3: Mixing Prints

Day 3 of the 21 Day Challenge

Today's theme is Mixing Prints. I found I had to differentiate between prints and textures, because I was all pumped to bust out some different textures together. But, then I remembered they are actually different things. Thus was born the flower skirt and the flower shoe.
One word about the flower shoes. I just got these from Francesca's Collections, a site I actually like for their accesories, and these shoes are miserable! I ordered a half size smaller than my foot size, because it's all there was, and it turns out even ordering small, these shoes are not stiff enough to actually stay on my feet! I put them on this morning, and couldn't even get to the living room without them falling off!

So I tried my new pair from Nordstrom's Rack, some nude flats with rhinestones. By the time I arrived at my desk, I had blood dripping from my heels. A few bandaids from my coworker and I was able to hobble through the day, but let's just say I'd rather be barefoot today!

Day 2: Tuck It In

Day 2 of the 21 Day Challenge

The theme today is Tuck It In. Tucking is decidedly not my forte. Even when I was young and Mom wanted my shirt tucked in so I would look all spiffed up for the 80s, I was bad at it. Today's picture proves the same thing. Since I figured I couldn't handle it all day, the tuck was admittedly only for the picture. I actually sat on the floor of my closet this morning, trying to think of something I could tuck. It almost made me late for my early meeting.

Oh and those are the alstromerias I bought today. Along with rootbeer, chocolate chip cookies, and something to pedi my summer heels. Pampered myself!
