They're made of lipstick, plastic and paint

Yesterday I made it to work without any accessories. I felt so lacking! That hasn't happened to me in months - probably twice in the last year. I guess I was just so excited to get to work that I ran out the door without them.

It got me thinkin'. They're always the best part of an outfit. They make it possible to wear the same shirt and skirt but have a different outfit, just by changing your necklace, bracelet, headband, earrings, rings, or whatever. I don't generally wear earrings because they irritate my ears terribly, but I love wearing all the others.

Exhibit A:

 White shell bracelet
 White glitter headband
Jute and mother of pearl necklace

White shell bracelet: Zurchers, the party store
White sparkle headband: Claire's
Jute and mother of pearl necklace: Amazon.com
Pink cotton striped shirt: Dressing Your Truth store

They'll be peace when you are done

Lots of blue and white and green sparkles today, which is good.

These bracelets make a little tinkling sound when you wear them. Which I love! When I was in high school, around Christmastime, I would tie a jingle bell on a ribbon to one of my shoes and wear them every day. I wonder how many teachers I really annoyed, but I loved walking the halls and hearing the jingle. I guess some things never get old!

I need to talk myself into spending the money on a haircut in the next couple days. I got out of the habit with house buying, and that's been good for no one. Time to get back in the swing on that one.

See the awesome unfinished edge on my skirt. I just sewed a line around it, rather than actually hemming it. I love the strings hanging down, and the fact that the cut is not completely straight. A little edgy, eh?

Happy Friday!

Blue and white sparkle stripe shirt: Thrifted
Round shell necklace: H&M Chicago

Blue and green sparkle bracelets: Smith's Marketplace
White undershirt: Shade
Khaki corduroy skirt: Homemade from a pair of Calvin Klein cords!
Keen fuzzy boots

Shop this, yo!

I came across a great online store to shop. Low prices and interesting stuff. Francesca's Collections. Lemme show you some of my Type 1 favs:

Gravel Road Cuff (which I just bought!!!)
I love the rocks that give a shout out to Secondary 3!

 Fade Away Scarf in Pink
This necklace would probably be longer than I like at 17 inches, but would be nice if you prefer them longer.

Haven't been home in a year or more

I bought a house. I get the keys today.
I have to say - worse than closing, worse than changing my utilities, was dealing with Comcast. Ugh.
Glad that's over with.

I received some excellent Type 1 housebuying advice from another lady on the Dressing Your Truth forums. I was frustrated with the number of options and the fact that I was the final decision maker. I'm perfectly happy adapting to another person's decision, but at the same time, I didn't want to give my power away. Here's the summary of what she told me:

"Picture the fun you'll have in that house. The friends, the children, the parties, the food. Make sure there are good spaces for fun. And go with your gut."

Wonderful advice. And I tried to live it. I think my new house has some good fun spaces in it, and I am already planning the weenie roast to kick off me having a great backyard!

My face looks weird in this picture. Not a judgement, just a strange camera angle. Good thing it's about the clothes.

Check out this skirt! Finally a "wrap style" skirt that is well-designed!
Adorable shoes, anyone? (Yes I have abnormally tiny feet.)

Brown corduroy jacket: Costco
Star shell necklace: friend bought it in Hawaii
Dark green T: Smith's Marketplace
Green circles bracelet: Dressing Your Truth (I have it in purple too!)
Green and white abstract linen skirt: Coldwater Creek
Green flower flats: Classified (Thrifted)
